Meet me

I like to bring different perspectives to the table, all are united by a love for purposeful work, building community, and trusting the wisdom of the body — learning to listen carefully enough to know when it asks for softness and when it is ready to be challenged.

Anne-Sophie Heist

Anne-Sophie is the person working behind the scenes of Shala.Live. She is also the face that will meet you during our 45 min RTP classes.

With one foot still firmly set in the fast paced world of photography and documentary cinematography she also noticed the grounding benefit of a regular Yoga and wellness routine.

Her brain usually likes to entertain five other things she could be doing at that time so has struggled with consistency over the years. International travel usually breaks any sort of healthy routine she managed to set up for herself.

Born in France and then a move to Germany for school and Austria for university she has a sweet spot for Shanghai, China in her heart after having lived there for 20 years. She currently lives in London with her husband but still visits Asia frequently for work.

After a stint in the oncology department and a few doctor ordered quarantine weeks between 2022 and 2023 she dreamed up the idea of finding a true yoga studio community online. Where you are allowed to travel to another place without leaving your bedroom and where a friendly face greats you on the mat before or after a daunting appointment in the radiology department.

She still visits her favourite oncology nurses at UCLH every three months, though at this point we don’t know who is checking in on who.

After two decades practising Yoga personally she completed her 200 YTT with Jesper Brodén in November 2025 and her Trauma Informed Yoga with Grace Ellie in Spring 2026 and is currently completing an additional course in Trauma Informed Yoga with Dr. Arielle Schwarzt as well as a Yoga for Cancer with Morven Hamilton. She will also have completed her Death Doula Foundation course with Living Well Dying Well ™ in July 2026.

She is so glad to welcome you here.

p.s. Her hair has grown longer again than pictured here but her post-chemo curly Pixie is still her favourite look ever ( and the only time she got compliments on the street for such a fun cut) so she has decided that this will be her profile picture until further notice ( or people starting to question the date of it).
